Access Statement For Parks Farm B&B
Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home based two-bedroom bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival
• Transport to Winchcombe (nearest town) available by limited bus service or taxi. Nearest railway station - Cheltenham Spa or Moreton-in-Marsh.
• We can provide details of local taxi companies but own transport is advisable as we are three miles from the centre of Winchcombe.
• Fully-functional website including booking details and Access Statement.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• We are three miles out of Winchcombe and one mile up a steep tarmac drive through a farm.
• Road surface uneven in places - cars with very low ground clearance are not recommended.
• There is ample parking space adjacent to the house.
• The surface is level gravel.
• We can assist guests with luggage.
• There may be a closed gate and cattlegrid to negotiate along the farm drive.
• Unfortunately we no longer accept dogs (except guide dogs by arrangement only).
• Lights will be left on outside the house at night until guests return.
• Time of arrival is by arrangement but is usually between 5-7pm.
Main Entrance & Reception
• The front door has two steps up (first 23cm / 9" high, second 20cm / 8" high).
• Front door 179cm / 5'10.5" high and 99cm / 3'3" wide)
• There is a small porch and an inner double door up to 112cm / 44" wide and 175cm / 5'9" high
• There is a sizeable hallway - the floor has uneven cotswold stone flags and is partially carpeted.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
• There is a flight of ten stairs, each 18cm / 7" high. Width of staircase is 114cm / 4'5" to the first landing and yellow bedroom. There is a rope handrail on the left-hand side at about 3' high. There are a further three stairs to both bathrooms and the blue bedroom. There is no handrail on these stairs.
• Head clearance on the first few steps of the main staircase is 193cm / 6'3" going up, but only around 163cm / 5'4" on descent.
• The upper landing is lit throughout the night.
• The stairs and landings are all carpeted.
Public Areas - WC
• There are no public toilet facilities other than the private bathrooms.
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe
• Breakfast is served in the farmhouse kitchen around a large kitchen table 168cm / 114cm / 66cm (high) (5’6” / 3’9” / 2’6”(high))
• Entrance to kitchen is 185cm / 6'1" high and 80cm / 2'7" wide.
Laundry
• Wet outdoor clothing - boots, coats etc. - can be dried and ironing facilities are available on request.
Shop
• There is a good range of shops in Winchcombe (3 miles).
Outdoor Facilities
• Seating available in the garden.
Bedrooms
• Yellow bedroom
• Door 179cm / 5'11" high (under beam) and 75cm / 2'4.5" wide.
• Two single beds which can be pushed together - 200cm / 6'6" long,
104cm / 3'4" wide and 48cm / 19" off the ground.
• There is one armchair and a small upholstered chair.
• Fitted carpet throughout.
• Blue bedroom
• Door 188cm / 6'2" high and 69cm / 2'3" wide.
• Two single beds (can be made into one double bed on request)
191cm / 6'3" long, 105cm / 3'5" wide and 53cm / 21" off the ground.
• A pair of armchairs.
• Fitted carpet throughout.
• Both rooms have a colour television (with remote control), radio-alarm and tea/coffee making facilities.
• Dressing gowns provided.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC
• Yellow bedroom – private bathroom. On upper landing (up three steps).
• Door 188cm / 6'2" high and 69cm / 2'3" wide.
• Bath and hand-held shower, wash basin and low level WC.
• Short-pile fitted carpet.
• Blue bathroom – private bathroom. Along upper landing.
• Door 188cm / 6'2" high and 77cm / 2'6.5" wide.
• Bath and hand-held shower, wash basin and low level WC.
• Cork-tiled floor
• In both bathrooms
• No handrails in bath.
• Heated towel rail.
• Electric razor point.
Grounds and Gardens
• The house is situated on a steep hillside amongst farmland. If you wish to walk on the farm but off the public footpaths, please ask first for guidance.
Additional Information
• Guide dogs only are welcome by arrangement.
• There is mobile phone reception for most providers. Landline can be used by request only.
• Wi-fi internet access (please ask).
• Emergency exit access is down the stairs, turn right and leave via front door. A plan of the house is available in both bedrooms.
• Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the house. If you wish to smoke please do so outside and dispose of cigarette stubs responsibly.
• We can accept small items of food/medication for storage in our fridge by arrangement (access available 24 hours).
